Why Burger King, McDonald's, and other fast food chains are all-in on gamification.

All types of companies seem to be turning to gaming to win over new customers and increase customer retention.

First, it was media companies; now, it’s fast food restaurant chains:

  • Burger King recently launched a new video game for its 70th birthday called Balloon Burst
  • McDonald’s Monopoly is always a fan favorite, filled with incredible prizes
  • Taco Bell relaunched its Coin Drop game last year

In an interview with Restaurant Dive, Burger King’s Director of Loyalty and Customer Relationship Management shared, “They start to come more frequently, and they start to spend more, driving that stickiness of our brand.”

Another reason why restaurant chains like Burger King are all in on gamification—it appeals to younger audiences, such as Generation Z and Millennials.

Gamification is a winning strategy for fast-food restaurant chains.
